Dawn's Details: This was a commission I did in 2012, my first year in comics. I wanted to depict the Banths with her, as if she was taming them here. Initially they had their eyes open, but they're described as having "protruding green eyes" and as I was drawing it, their eyes really freaked me out, lol. They were very intense & distracting, so much so that I felt it would take away from Dejah Thoris, who was the character I was commissioned to draw after all. After some thinking about what to do, I closed their eyes, as if they're sleeping, which was more in keeping with the concept of "taming" them anyway, so I thought that was a good fix. :)
